Why Carlsbad
Carlsbad, New Mexico is America's Nuclear Corridor. Nestled in the southeastern corner of the state, Carlsbad is home to a synergistic array of nuclear related entities. The hidden gem in all of this is the Department of Energy's Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), which is the only deep geologic repository for nuclear waste and the only repository licensed to manage and permanently dispose of defense-related transuranic (TRU) waste.

In addition to WIPP, Carlsbad is home to the US Department of Energy Field Office for the area, and has both Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory. To the east, the corridor is completed by Urenco, International Isotopes, and the ELEA National Interim Storage site.

We invite you to attend the National Nuclear Fuel Cycle Summit (NNFCS) 2013 and take part in the discussion about America's Nuclear Future.
